Maintaining Focus During Quarantine

2020. What a year this has been so far. Due to COVID-19 taking the world by storm, it has been very hard for many of us to feel normal. Usually, we leave our homes to go to work, school and just interact with others. However, now that everything is virtual, it can be difficult to stay on track and find a good balance of work and play.


It can be hard to stay productive when you’re doing all work from the comfort of your bed. Find a counter, a kitchen table, or a desk and designate it solely for work. When you sit down at that spot, imagine you are no longer at home, at work/school. Setting boundaries for certain areas in your home can help you find the balance, as you will know what needs to be done and there will be less room for distraction.



Because we are stuck in our homes, it can be tempting to stay in bed for as long as possible, but waking up and getting dressed is essential to make sure that you have a productive day. Changing out of your pajamas will give you the extra push because you will be preparing for the day the same way you did before the pandemic.


Lastly, it is important to try to find some sort of normalcy. Staying completely inside could cause more anxiety, if you can, try to go outside and get some fresh air. Continue to maintain social distancing though. This can be done if you have the privilege of a backyard or balcony.
