Bella Campisi is a junior at Hofstra University working on a degree in Public Relations with a
minor in Fine Arts. She is an account executive for the Swing Agency and hopes to attend
CUNY post-undergrad to earn her Master’s Degree in Public Relations. Bella aspires to pursue
entertainment PR in the future, with the specific goal of doing music PR. In her free time, Bella
likes to take pictures, attend live concerts, and spend time in nature. During her time in the
Swing Agency, Bella hopes to expand her knowledge and abilities and gain experience as a PR
Favorite PR blunder: I’ll never forget when Jeff Bezos thanked underpaid employees for funding
his trip to outer space.
Jenna Katz is a senior at Hofstra University from New York City, majoring in public relations and minoring in philosophy. She is currently an account executive for the Swing Agency and an active member of her sorority, Alpha Epsilon Phi, in which she has held the position of PR chair. After she graduates, she hopes to earn a master’s degree in fashion studies, gaining a greater knowledge of the fashion industry and potentially using this to pursue a career in fashion PR. She loves the creative aspect of PR and is eager to deepen and cultivate her creative skills and collaborate within the Swing Agency as well as put to use everything she has learned over the past 4 years.
Favorite PR Blunder: One of the most memorable PR fails was in 2017 when Adidas sent out an email to everyone who had completed the Boston Marathon congratulating them for finishing the race. However, the subject title for the email read “Congrats you survived!” which was a very poor choice of words knowing that the Boston Marathon bombing had only been a few years prior.
Bella Wetherington is a senior at Hofstra University currently pursuing a degree in public relations with minors in psychology, marketing and mass media studies. She is the Director of Membership Services for Hofstra’s chapter of PRSSA as well as an active member of her sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon. Bella strives to attend New York University or Columbia University in pursuit of a degree in law, after which she plans to live in New York City practicing media, entertainment and sports law. She is deeply passionate about the arts, dedicating as much free time as possible to art museums, reading, music, and fim. As Director of the student-run Swing Agency, Bella aspires to promote a positive and forward-thinking environment focused on creativity in communication.
Favorite PR Blunder: “Elon Musk getting rid of his PR team is my absolute favorite idiotic thing that has ever happened.”
Taylor Riller is a senior at Hofstra University, graduating in May 2022 with a B.A. in Public Relations. Taylor combines her love for content development and social media as an account executive at the Swing Agency to support the agency's efforts. Taylor is passionate in sports media and technology communications, and she plans to start her own legal practice for athletes in the future. As MISS NFL and host of the digital web-series Charge it to the Game, Taylor enjoys being a micro-influencer and keeping up with the latest NFL news in her free time.
Favorite PR Blunder:
In August of 2021, KFC notified customers of “weeks of disruption” to come as the chicken fast-food chain experienced a chicken shortage.
Gillian Santos is a senior at Hofstra University pursuing a public relations major and a minor in civic engagement. She is the President of the Public Relations Student Society of America at Hofstra as well as an active member of Delta Phi Epsilon and Danceworks. Gillian currently works freelance for FerenComm and aspires to continue her career in entertainment PR after graduation. In her personal life, she has a passion for ceramics, pop culture, and all things food. As an Account Supervisor for The Swing Agency, Gillian strives to encourage creativity and open communication amongst her team.
Favorite PR Blunder: The Peloton x Sex and The City Reboot. Almost laughable.
Tyler Platt is a senior public relations major at Hofstra University with a minor in creative writing. After graduating he hopes to work with marine life charities and nonprofits. The once vice-president of a poetry club that sadly went defunct during the pandemic, he still reads and writes regularly. He is passionate about telling stories, which is what got him into PR in the first place. He also hates writing in the third person. As account supervisor for the Ascend Long Island account, he cannot wait to put his skills to use on something other than classwork.
Favorite PR blunder: Pabst Blue Ribbon tweeting about instead of “dry january” (a movement meant to help recovering alcoholics) there should be a “wet january”, i.e. buying their beer. Following that controversy they then tweeted “Not drinking this january? Try eating a**” except they didn’t censor themselves. Clearly perplexed by the whole social media thing, they then deleted everything and tweeted “Beer” and then didn’t touch their Twitter for 2 weeks.
